Kevan and the Future - Newsday

Kevan and the Future

Two years ago, Illinois senate candidate Barack Obama created a sensation when he spoke at the Democratic National Convention.
Two years from now, could Nassau Legis. Kevan Abrahams do the same thing?
Abrahams, 31, of Hempstead, said he is one of 350 young Democratic elected and appointed officials invited to attend the national Democratic Leadership conference in Denver this week.
“People who speak at the convention are sometimes selected from this crop of people,” Abrahams said. “If you meet the right people and come across the right way, you can get an opportunity to speak.”
It might not be prime time, but “I’m crossing my fingers,” Abrahams said. ”Hopefully in two years, I’ll be on C-span or something.”
