A Super Bowl champion from Uniondale may soon be immortalized on one of his hometown’s streets.

Nassau County Leg. Kevan Abrahams (D-Hempstead) has introduced a proposal that would ceremonially name a portion of Uniondale Avenue, between Union Avenue and Front Street, “Andrew Quarless Avenue” for the Green Bay Packers tight end.

According to Legislature counsel David J. Gugerty, the proposal will be brought up Monday during committee meetings (Rules, and Parks and Works), and if approved would go to the full Legislature for a vote on March 21.

Quarless, 22, a Uniondale High School and Penn State alumnus, caught 1 pass for 5 yards during the Packers Super Bowl XLV win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

If approved, the signage would be placed no later than June 30.
